DINAPSIS Open Challenge

COSTA BLANCA

What was the 3rd Open Challenge like?

In November 2023, the third Dinapsis Open Challenge took place in Benidorm, an event focused on green infrastructures, urban resilience to climate change, tourist flows management and nature-based solutions. (NBS).

Out of 2,200 startups that were identified, 34 applied and only 5 reached the final phase. At this stage, the startups presented their projects before a jury during the so-called Demo Day.

In this edition, two categories were identified among the participants, which led the jury to award two prizes: the first to the category of urban resilience to climate change and the second to the category of tourist flows management.

The Dinapsis Open Challenge is consolidated as a key event in promoting innovative ideas and sustainable solutions. These selected startups represent the talent and creativity needed to address current and future challenges in the field of green infrastructure and responsible tourism.

Latitude 40

They have developed a complete Urban Environmental Operating System capable of performing an in-depth analysis of urban areas, extending up to 8 years in the past, through the integrated use of remote sensing satellite images and artificial intelligence algorithms. This system is designed to identify the main climate risks, including the possible presence of urban heat islands.

Latitudo 40 has designed a personalised algorithm that correlates the appearance of urban heat islands with populations at risk, thus creating a prioritised action map.

CityMe provides a virtual, audible, local and expert guide in different cities, which narrates to the user, through geolocation and in audio format, everything relevant around them while walking through the city.

CityMe has completely digitised the experience of free walking tours and city tours, putting that expert guide on your smartphone. Thus decrowding the busiest areas, without the need for groups, and therefore making cities a more sustainable place.
